How It All Began…
Church of The Wonderful News was founded in 1912 by immigrants from Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus. For many years, it remained the only Slavic evangelical church in Philadelphia.
Over the past decade, the church has experienced significant growth. Today, our church family is multinational, including Russians, Ukrainians, Moldovans, Jews, and Americans.
What unites us is our faith in the living God, a sincere desire to know Scripture, and a commitment to living lives transformed into the likeness of Christ.

The Church…
The word “church” means “an assembly of people called by God for a specific purpose.” Christ came into the world to seek and to save the lost (Luke 19:10). Those who are saved, He, as the Head of the Church, brings into His Body (1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 1:22–23).
Our Vision
Mature and joyful children of God, building the Church and impacting the world.
